10 Years of Daniel: The Man Between the Lines

He came through a referral. He stayed for ten years. If you ask Daniel Bartschies how that happened, he won’t give you a long story. “Et hätt noch immer jot jejange” – that’s his advice to his younger self. In Kölsch. Concise. To the point.

10 Years of Blackbit: Daniel Bartschiess

Actually, None of This Was Planned at All

Office clerk. Then PHP developer. Then full-stack. Then Pimcore developer – junior, senior, enterprise. Then Pimcore consultant. Then Professional Scrum Master. None of these steps was part of some grand plan – and yet the sequence forms a clear path: Daniel never stops learning. #learn #code #repeat isn’t just a motivational slogan. It’s simply how he works.

The Right Person When Things Get Complicated

Systems that refuse to talk to each other. Data models that need to be reimagined. Migrations where someone has to keep their cool.

Daniel is that person.

His areas of expertise: Pimcore and Shopware – and the connections between them. He builds imports, exports, and synchronizations between systems that weren’t actually designed to work together. He migrates online stores to new platforms, develops data models from scratch, and integrates the Blackbit Data Director wherever data finally needs to be organized. Sometimes he does it all at once.

What clients don’t see in the process: just how much quiet concentration goes into it. What they do see: that it works.

Between the Lines

That’s what his autobiography would be called. And it fits someone who cites composure as his greatest strength, whose perfect day at the office consists of nice people and problems solved – and who, after work, cooks, listens to music, and plans trips that require real endurance. Everest Base Camp. Machu Picchu. Bhutan. And someday, his own vinyl record – featuring music he produced himself.

His motto: Forward ever, backward never.

Thank you, Daniel.
