Three operating models, one decision: Shopware SaaS runs fully managed without your own infrastructure - automatic updates, no patching, ready for immediate use. Shopware PaaS gives you more control over configuration and extensions on managed cloud infrastructure. Self-hosted (open source) offers maximum customization freedom on your own server or Kubernetes cluster. Blackbit advises and operates all three models.
Headless-ready: The API-first approach enables genuine headless commerce architectures - for example with Alokai (Vue Storefront) as the frontend layer or your own Next.js frontend. The Shopware-Pimcore Connector synchronizes product data from Pimcore into Shopware 6 as a commerce backend. From there, Shopware provides the data via API - the headless storefront is exclusively the presentation layer that consumes and renders this API.
