Switching to a company bike is simple and cost-effective – that's the promise made by Bikeleasing-Service GmbH & Co. KG. As a classic start-up, the leasing provider entered the highly competitive company bike market with its service in 2015. The young company quickly gained momentum and is now one of the top providers in the industry. In cooperation with over 6,000 bicycle dealers, Bikeleasing currently enables modern and sustainable mobility concepts for more than 38,000 companies and their employees in Germany and Austria – from the self-employed to corporations with several thousand employees.

The Challenge: Completely Digital Processes for a Convenient User Journey

The biggest challenge was the logical sequence of the necessary sub-processes in the leasing business, their mapping in the system, and automation: Which processes are triggered and which dependencies must be created within the system so that all company bike processes can be handled as unbureaucratically as possible in a simple, uninterrupted user journey? Everyone should be able to benefit from a pure service bike experience in order to meet the sharp rise in demand and continue to ensure smooth leasing processes with the extra service typical of bike leasing.

The entire company bike process for employees, employers, and dealers became increasingly complex and bureaucratic as demand for company bikes grew. To ensure smooth leasing processes with the extra service typical of bike leasing, Blackbit has implemented completely digital, modern, and service-oriented processes that can be easily used via app or online portal—and rolled out internationally.

Implementation: Establishing Efficient Processes for Content Maintenance and Lead Generation

With a functioning app and a portal page, the technical foundations were already in place. Blackbit integrated the CRM system into the new application via an API interface so that leasing contracts are automatically synchronized with the PIM system and transferred to the app. In line with the mobile-first principle, a mobile-optimized version was developed first. This was followed by a web application that allows end customers of the service bike service to access the service both on the go and via the desktop.

In addition, Blackbit updated the bike leasing PIM to the latest version of the powerful open-source software. An integrated language switch allows the portal to be switched to English with a single click. This made the company bike service accessible to international customers residing in Germany or Austria.

The online portal has been comprehensively redesigned to meet the needs of employers, employees, and freelancers. For example, Schufa credit checks for freelancers have been integrated and individual user IDs for employees have been introduced. Internal process optimization enables incoming applications from dealers or employees to be automatically stored in the CRM as leasing contracts in the PIM, which then only need to be digitally approved by Bikeleasing. With the new Bikeleasing app, customers can now quickly and easily resolve all issues on the go, such as processing a damage claim directly at the scene of an accident.

Thanks to optimized processes and numerous new features, the services offered for leasing all types of bicycles and e-bikes can be easily handled at any time while on the go. From straightforward registration and mobile contract management to quick and easy claims processing, everyone involved benefits from the new application. 

In perfectly coordinated steps, the processing of company bicycle leasing becomes a digital process that begins with an employee's interest in a new company bicycle.
