Industry
B2B Online-Commerce
Challenge
Bense & Eicke wanted a website relaunch including shop integration for potential B2C market development with independent management of functions and content in a user-friendly backend.
Results
Blackbit fulfilled the requirements, revised the website design, and recommended a shop system with a modern and easy-to-use interface. By implementing the website relaunch based on a web shop of the future, Bense & Eicke have opened up new opportunities and now offer their specialist retail customers round-the-clock ordering options as well as information on prices and availability.
The Company
The family business has been manufacturing horse and leather care products since 1887. Continuing the family tradition, siblings Wiebke Winkler and Christoph Reinecke are now the third generation to run the company, which is based in southern Lower Saxony. The products, which are mainly based on natural raw materials, are distributed worldwide from the Einbeck district of Edemissen. The Challenge: Easy Entry Into Online Retail
The positive experience of working with Blackbit and the extensive e-commerce expertise of our digital agency encouraged Bense & Eicke not only to commission a shop, but also to incorporate the necessary knowledge for successful online trading themselves. The company wanted an easy-to-use web shop that focuses on the products and can handle all the challenges of customer-specific pricing.
The Solution: A Future-Proof Shop System
To implement Bense & Eicke's requirements, Blackbit opted for Shopware 6. This shop system has a forward-looking architecture and enables the Bense & Eicke team to maintain content and process orders independently. Another decisive factor in the choice of system was RuleBuilder, which allows pricing to be customized for each customer.
An extensive range of themes and plugins helps to meet changing customer requirements with as little programming effort as possible. Existing solutions were used for the interface to the merchandise management system, a dealer directory, a blog, and the registration process, which distinguishes end customers from dealers. Desired functions that the new Shopware version could not cover were implemented by Blackbit's in-house plugin development.
The Result: A Shop System That Meets Market Demands
The Bense & Eicke online shop was designed to be future-proof in order to enable potential market development in the B2C business and promote further growth. With the help of Shopware Experience Worlds, employees can create content pages even without advanced HTML knowledge and easily implement appealing, interactive content. A seamless interface to merchandise management ensures that the product catalog and inventory remain up to date and synchronized at all times, so that the entire system works reliably and efficiently.
Compared to orders placed by email, phone, and fax, orders placed via the online shop reduce potential sources of error and relieve the team of the burden of order acceptance. The time saved can now be invested in actively supporting customers and developing products.
