As the manual production of these promotional materials is time-consuming, costly and prone to errors, the company wanted to find a functional and efficient solution.

The Initial Situation: Manual and Costly Catalogue Production
As a large proportion of the catalogue pages – including print marks, die-cuts, etc. – were produced manually, the effort and costs involved in catalogue production were considerable – and the process was prone to errors. The company was therefore looking for a more efficient solution to optimise this process.
The Solution: Precise, Productive – And Perfect With Pimcore
Thanks to the automation of catalogue page production, including print marks and die-cuts, the effort and costs involved in catalogue production have been significantly reduced. The quality of the catalogue remains on a par with manually designed versions. Changes can be made quickly, and product data can be easily updated via the Pimcore backend.
Implementation: Automated Processes for Content Management Using the Web-To-Print Solution
To automate catalogue production at Windhager, Blackbit implemented a web-to-print solution using the open-source framework Pimcore.
Pimcore manages the structured product data and images for print and downloadable catalogues. By configuring the Pimcore Controller, creating an HTML template and mapping the product data to the catalogue design, the information can now be quickly imported into the desired layout.
