Stripe Climate brings together companies that want to accelerate the development of CO₂ removal together. Because one thing is clear: no single company can solve this challenge alone.

Through Stripe Climate, contributions from many companies flow together into the development and scaling of technologies for permanent CO₂ removal. In collaboration with Frontier - a team of scientists and business experts - targeted approaches are supported that have a measurable impact and are sustainable in the long term.

This will gradually create a market for CO₂ removal: not as a short-term offset, but as an infrastructural basis for climate stability.

Review 2025: 21,671 Tons of CO₂ Permanently Removed

The impact report sent by Stripe to participating companies at the beginning of 2026 documents concrete progress in CO₂ removal technologies:

• 21,671 tons of CO₂ permanently removed: nine companies delivered carbon removal services to Stripe Climate and Frontier in 2025. What was still being tested on a pilot scale in 2024 is now running in the first industrial plants.
• Planning security through purchase agreements: Advance offtake agreements give technology providers the security they need to invest in plants, processes and verification systems. These contracts are the lever for bringing processes from the laboratory to industrial scale.
• Investments in permanent CO₂ storage: The funds flow specifically into projects for permanent CO₂ removal- for example through direct air capture, accelerated rock weathering or geological storage solutions.

The technologies do not just work in theory. They are becoming increasingly marketable.

In the sustainability debate, promises are often made that are difficult to test. For us, this is problematic - because responsibility can only be meaningfully assigned if investments are linked to clear, verifiable criteria.
